Sarah serves as the Manager of the Orthopedics Department at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, CA. She attended Western Carolina University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. She then attended the University of South Carolina as a graduate assistant athletic trainer earning her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training. After working in an orthopedic clinic in graduate school, she pursued an Athletic Training Residency in Orthopedics at St. Luke’s in Boise, ID. She was then hired as a clinical athletic trainer within the orthopedics department at Rady Children’s Hospital seeing a wide range of patients in sports medicine and scoliosis clinics to complex neuromuscular disorders and limb deformities. After working clinically, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Leadership and moved into management. In her current position, she oversees the daily operations and strategic planning of the department.
Since moving to California, she has become involved at the state and district level and is part of the California Athletic Trainers’ Association Legislative Action Team and the Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association Council on Practice Advancement. Sarah strives to be an advocate for the profession, especially for those in the physician practice.
She enjoys traveling, exploring the great outdoors, dancing, and walking along the beach with her husband and dogs in sunny San Diego.
