I graduated from The University of Findlay in Findlay, OH in 2010 with a Master’s Degree in Athletic Training and Bachelor’s in Strength and Conditioning. The first five years of my career was spent working high school outreach in a Physical Therapy clinic. I worked with 3 area schools covering high school athletics and also worked with patients that were in Physical Therapy and our Wellness Program. During this time I was an adjunct professor at The University of Findlay and Heidelberg University in their Athletic Training and Physical Therapy programs. I wanted to branch out my skills so I took a position at The Ohio State University in their Sports Medicine department as a physician extender. I worked with multiple different sports medicine physicians and orthopedic surgeons and learned how to function in a physician office as an Athletic Trainer. I enjoyed working in the physician office and felt this was a position that I wanted to expand on. In 2016 I was approached by the Executive VP of NOMS Healthcare to come on with NOMS and design a Physician Extender position in her office with the anticipation to roll it out to other offices in the organization. In my current position, I will see patients in the office in conjunction with the MD, PA, or CNP and together we will develop a treatment plan that can include diagnostic imaging, referral to another specialty, developing a home exercise program, or dispense DME if appropriate. I also manage and run the DME program for NOMS Healthcare and function as the sole ATC at a local high school.
