Kate Taber is a Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Minnesota. Kate is the Lead Clinical Athletic Trainer for Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine in Minneapolis, MN and serves as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the WNBA Minnesota Lynx.
Kate received a degree in Athletic Trainer at the University of Iowa and a master of education from the University of Minnesota. She spent most of her career as a collegiate Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota working with both Men’s Baseball and Women’s Basketball. Kate transitioned to the clinical setting in 2015 when an opportunity arose for a position with the WNBA Minnesota Lynx in conjunction with a clinical position in Mayo Clinic’s Sports Medicine Center.
Since her transition to the clinical setting Kate has worked alongside industry leaders in the field of PM&R with respect to diagnostic, interventional ultrasound and regenerative medicine. Kate has worked alongside other Clinical Athletic Trainers to develop a Clinical Athletic Training Education series as well as an Ultrasound didactics within Mayo Clinic. This work has helped her develop a passion for advancing the role of Athletic Trainers in a physician practice so they are able to practice at the top of their scope.
A native of Illinois, Taber is an active member of the Minnesota Athletic Trainers Association committees of Public Relations and Governmental Affairs. She enjoys traveling and recreational sports activities with family and friends. Kate, her husband Brett and son Holden currently reside in Eagan, MN.
