Tyler is a native of Nova Scotia, who studied Athletic Training at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, graduating in 2010, where he was a 4 year member of the baseball program. While at UMPI he had the opportunity to spend a summer internship working with the Dunedin Blue Jays, the High A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, working not only with the minor league team but also spending time at the rehabilitation center working with Major League players during their recovery.
After graduating Tyler spent 8 years as the athletic trainer for Gorham High School working with all the athletic programs throughout the school year. While there he worked yearly with the Sports Medicine fellows as well as being an approved clinical preceptor for the University of Southern Maine and University of New England overseeing athletic training students in their clinical training. Tyler has also provided athletic training coverage for many of the Maine Principals' Association events, including the State Basketball, Hockey and Baseball tournaments. He also served as the athletic trainer for the Black Bear Hockey Camp.
Tyler joined Maine Medical Partners with the division of Trauma and Fracture Care in February 2019. Since then Tyler has continued to learn the various casting and splinting techniques, as well as fit patients for DME products and orthotic devices. Tyler is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Maine Athletic Trainers Association, and Athletic Trainers in the Physicians Practice Society.
