Kate Taber, M Ed., LAT, ATC, received a degree in Athletic Trainer at the University of Iowa and a Master of Education from the University of Minnesota. She spent the first half of her career working in collegiate and professional athletics serving as an Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota working with both Men’s Baseball and Women’s Basketball and subsequently serving as the assistant athletic trainer for the WNBA, Minnesota Lynx.
She transitioned to the clinical setting in 2015 working as a clinical athletic trainer quickly moving into a leadership position serving as the lead clinical athletic trainer for Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine.
In 2020 Kate made a career move into healthcare administration serving as the Operations Manager for the Mayo Clinic Department of Orthopedic Surgery and then for the Spine Center. Recently, she transitioned into the role of Administrator for Mayo Clinic Primary Care.
Kate is passionate about advocating for the athletic training profession and for athletic trainers to serve in leadership positions within healthcare. As such, she is an active member of the Minnesota Athletic Trainers’ Association having served on the Executive Committee in various roles including President, and current Chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee. She is also an active member of the Athletic Trainers in the Physician Practice Society, having previously served as the Chair of the Public Relations Committee and currently serving on the Executive Board as Treasurer.
Kate, her husband Brett, son Holden and daughter Quinn, currently reside in Lakeville, MN and enjoy exploring local lake paths and supporting the many Minnesota sports teams!
